Dhu'l-Hijjah is the 12th Month of the Islamic Calendar

The10 DAYS of Dhul Hijjah  are the best 10 days of the whole year. They are even better than the last 10 days of Ramadan. Many brothers and sisters get confused with this point. Ramadan has the best 10 nights or the whole year not the best 10 days.

The following article explains in more detail what the virtues of the first 10 days of Dhul hijjah and what is encouraged for a person to do, during these blessed days.

Dhul Hijjah is also the month in which hajj occurs

 

Day of Arafah occurs on the the 9th of Dhul Haijjah. Importance of this day and what to do on this day

The 10th of Dhul hijjah is the day of Eid Al Adha

Eid Celebration 

One should offer a sacrifice such as a ram, cow etc on either the day of Eid al Adha or the 3 days of Tashreek which follow Eid al Adha.

Day 11, 12 and 13 are the days  Tashreek

 

Note it is recommended to fast on the First 9 days of Dhul Hijjah especially on the 9th day (day of Arafah) however this is optional. But as you read the articles above you will want to fast due to the great benefits of fasting on the day of Arafah in particular.

On day 10 (day of Eid) and on the Days of Tashreek (days 11,12,and 13) it is forbidden to fast.
