Allah says:
And the Masaajid are for Allaah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allaah. 72:18
In houses (Masaajid), which Allaah has ordered to be raised (to be cleaned, and to be honoured), in them His Name is glorified in the mornings and in the afternoons or the evenings. 24:36
The Masaajid of Allaah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allaah and the Last Day; perform As-Salaat (Iqaamat-as-Salaat), and give Zakaat and fear none but Allaah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. 9:18
There are many Masjids (Mosques) in the UK, USA, Europe, Australia , India and most countries. In the west the term Mosque is widely used, however the proper name for place were Muslims pray is called MASJID.I have tried to include only those which provide authentic teachings of Islam. My advice is to avoid places were people mix Islam with various un-Islamic practices. Islam is from the creator and so no one has the right to add to it or take anything away form it.Not every Muslim is the same. Some Muslims do not practice Islam. Some have beliefs which are against Islamic monotheism due to their mind being polluted by Greek, Hindu and various other philosophies and their belief resembles more of pantheism than the Islamic monotheism.

Most Non-Muslims and even New Muslims who have never been to a Masjid before are terrified of going to a Masjid. They should not have any fear at all.
The fear is from satan who does not want people to learn Islam or go to the Masjid. Muslims are very friendly people and are always overjoyed if they hear that a person wants to know about Islam and Muslim or just to visit the Masjid or to become Muslim.
